The Meridian Farms Water Company (MFWC) provides irrigation water to three distinct service areas encompassing 9,150 total acres, with an estimated annual water delivery of 35,000 acre-feet. The water service is provided by surface water diversion from the Sacramento River, drain water reuse and groundwater pumping. The MFCW diversions from the Sacramento River are under the provision of a License for Diversion and Use of Water with a priority date of September 10, 1918. The Sacramento River diversions are located at Meridian, Drexler and Grimes.
Project improvements included enlargement of approximately 15,000 lineal feet of the Main Canal, a re-lift pumping plant into a 36-inch diameter pipeline approximately 5,000 linear feet and installation of approximately 6,000 linear feet of additional pipeline.
ANDREGG GEOMATICS provided professional surveying services that consisted of ground control surveys, aerial mapping, bathymetric surveys, and determination of existing easements, rights of way and the development of a survey landnet for the purpose of writing legal descriptions for acquisitions needed for the improvements. This required coordination and correspondence with Reclamation District 70, local land owners and the MFWC to resolve the shoreline boundary and determine the locations of the Reclamation District's easements for the existing levee system. A total of twenty-three aerial control photo panels were set along with numerous NGS and USGS horizontal and vertical monuments to ensure that all deliverables met National Map Accuracy Standards.
